The data was obtained by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) in Washington DC and has led to one of the biggest ever global investigations ¹. More than 600 journalists in 117 countries have been trawling through the files from 14 sources for months, finding stories that are being published this week ¹.
The Pandora Papers unmask the hidden owners of offshore companies, secret bank accounts, private jets, yachts, mansions and artworks by Picasso, Banksy and other masters ³. The biggest leak in ICIJ history contains 2.94 terabytes of confidential information from 14 offshore service providers ³.
The Pandora Papers reveal the hidden wealth of some of the world’s rich and powerful. The leaked documents contain information about offshore companies, secret bank accounts, private jets, yachts, mansions and artworks by Picasso, Banksy and other masters ¹². The leak has exposed the financial secrets and offshore dealings of dozens of heads of state, public officials and politicians from 91 countries and territories ³.

This is just a partial list of people named in the Pandora Papers as shareholders, directors and beneficiaries of offshore companies ⁵. In total, 35 current and former national leaders appear in the leaked documents, alongside 400 officials from nearly 100 countries ⁵.
